In 2013, we developed and facilitated the POWERED TO DREAM Youth Tech and Innovation Camp. The camp, sponsored by Microsoft, featured web development, robotics and rocketry workshops taught by software developers and tech coaches. To date, the camp has impacted more than 200 students. In its first year, the camp drew international attention with a photo story featured on Forbes.com titled, “Detroit Youth Are Powered To Dream.”   

In addition to the tech camp, we’ve created the following technology programs that spark students to develop an interest in computer science:   

• Hour of Code with Microsoft: Students learn to code though a personalized training session with Microsoft developers   
  
• Skype with the C.E.O. - Creating Executive Outcomes: Technology professionals video conference with students about careers in the tech industry   
  
• Super Tech Code Saturdays: Weekly “code and create” activities   
  
• POWER Surge 2020: ExSTREAM Tech Conference for students and parents   

We IMPACT and ENGAGE youth in TECHNOLOGY (IET) by focusing on three key areas: Access, Programming and Partnerships (App).
